WHAT IS x12?

x12 is a day-long hackathon at Extentia exclusively for Salesforce®. A follow up to our hugely successful X24 event last year. The goal is to develop and demonstrate working Salesforce apps that address real-world problems. All this within 12 hours!

Teams are made up of project managers, business analysts, Salesforce administrators, Salesforce developers, architects, and designers. These individuals have worked on major Salesforce projects for global clients that have delivered value, and have grown relationships. They have repeatedly demonstrated how they have leveraged the Salesforce platform effectively.

x12 CloudGurus — a panel of eminent industry experts, will mentor teams, provide insights, and judge the final result.

The event is a unique opportunity to learn new concepts, build on past experience on the Salesforce platform, meet people across functional teams, and gain skills as a unit. The goal is to push the limits of cloud technology in 12 hours.

Attractive prizes on offer from our partner-sponsors! We look forward to useful and interesting apps on May 6.  As always, being quick, innovative, and creative is key!

Challenge Statement 1: EventManager

Martin, the HR Head of Faffle Inc., needs to schedule and keep easy track of all events across the company. These events will be published on calendar to all the employees of Faffle. It keeps space/time for many more events like training/knowledge sessions, social/networking events, competitive events. Martin also wants to collect feedback after certain events and track popularity of the event. He also wants to track the involvement of each employee in various activities. Speakers, performers, organizers, and trainers should get reminders with different email templates ahead of the event – based on a programmable schedule. He also needs a dynamic collaboration system for certain events where attendees will raise questions and those will be addressed at the end of the session.

Challenge Statement 2: EzeeTrack

Tracking resources is always a big challenge for large organizations. The objective is to build a platform which will cut across industries to solve this problem. The solution should be able to schedule/track resources and track warranty management for each resource. As an example, construction companies which have lot of movable resources are always facing a constant challenge to track their equipment. This platform will allow efficient tracking and scheduling of resources. The solution is also aimed to cut down the service turnaround time related to maintenance of assets.

Challenge Statement 3: HealthisWealth

Everyone nowadays dreams of staying fit and healthy. More and more people work out in gyms, manage their diet, and monitor their medical parameters amongst other things in order to live a healthy lifestyle. However, a very small percentage of people who have the realization of a healthy lifestyle, have the right resources to change their lifestyle. Motor insurance companies offer additional discounts on insurance when owners install items in their vehicles that reduce the chance of theft or improve the efficiency of the vehicle. On similar lines, the challenge is to build a product that insurance companies can take to their customers in order to help them live a healthy lifestyle and bring down the risk that insurance companies take when allotting medical policies for their customers.

Challenge Statement 4: MyTube

Develop a smart platform that will help organizations create multiple “channels” for the distribution of relevant, curated and managed video content to employees or participants. Organizations can also track content access, usage, patterns, collect feedback, and take action. Every organization has a unique strategy for delivering an excellent experience to their employees based on their industry and domain. One such experience is through the use of media, especially video content. Videos are a great medium for organizations or companies to engage their employees. They can get them acquainted with the company culture, train them, boost their morale, and help to engage them in a variety of ways. However, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to video or other media management. We need a platform that will adapt to any organization in any domain or industry, and assist their administrative or business teams to expose video content to their employees. We would like to utilize this opportunity to develop such a platform.
